Three Reasons for the French revolution.
There were many reasons for the starting of the revolution. But I think the three reasons were the ways of live, the extravagant life of the king and the unfairness for the peasants and the bourgeoisie. The peasants were poor and the King did nothing for but actually made them pay taxes, 10% of their income had to go to the king. Because of the extravagant life style the kingdoms people were not happy, he was taking their taxes for luxury items, and treating them poorly. This was part of why the French Revolution started.
The ways of life for the peasants and the bourgeoisie were not the best. The peasants have to work on their landlords land getting little pay, the king did nothing about this, making them want to rise up against. The Bourgeoisie had but of a better life than the peasants, these people were business owners, but they were limited. It was hard for the bourgeoisie to make a profit; some people had monopolies over products, making it harder to earn a profit.
The king lived and extravagant life, the peasants and the bourgeoisie had a hard life. The king did nothing to help his people, but tax them so he could have the things he wanted for himself and his wife. The King had many luxury items such as wigs, lots of food, fancy clothing and jewelry and had unlimited power, I’d say he had a comfortable life style. Louis XIV, the king saw himself as center of the French Culture and life.
Why did the revolution start? The peasants and the business people had enough with the kings taxes, he treated them unfairly. They wanted “revenge” on the king. Since the people did not choose who they wanted to be king, the revolution started because of these things. The king made lots of money from exploiting and taxing the middle class and the lower class people, most of his money came from there. Getting closer to the start of the revolution Louis XIV became bankrupt, making him raise the taxes even more, making the people of his kingdom angry
In conclusion there were many ways the French revolution started, but the way of the king’s extravagant life style and the ways of life for the peasants and bourgeoisie. They rose up against the king to get treated better, or at least fairly. Because Louis XIV ruled for seventy two years, the kingdoms people have had enough. Because the King, Louis XIV became bankrupt, he raised the taxes, but the town could not afford more taxes. The kings extravagant had taken a part on how the French Revolution started.
